22. Believe The Impossible!

22. Believe The Impossible!

Lewis Carroll's famous masterpiece ‘Through the Looking Glass’ contains a story that exemplifies the need to dream the impossible dream. There is a conversation between Alice and the queen, which goes like this:

"I can't believe that!" said Alice.
"Can't you?" the queen said in a pitying tone. "Try again, draw a long breath, and shut your eyes."
Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said. "One can't believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

When you dare to dream, many marvels can be accomplished. The trouble is, most students never start dreaming.

Friends, welcome to Intervention, an outreach of VISION BUILDERS designed to help undergraduates contact divine intervention for academic victories. Intervention brings you inspirational messages and Study Tips to enable you be your best academically! Through this message, we believe that God is set to bless you by removing every barrier against your academic success and fulfillment.

Today I want to encourage you to Believe The Impossible!

Have you ever read Genesis 37:5-11? You should…

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf." And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?" Genesis 37:5-11

Every great achievement was once impossible UNTIL SOMEONE SET A GOAL to make it a reality!

Are you reaching out for seemingly impossible academic feat today? Are you wondering how you can achieve your academic dreams?

A dream can be described as something you wish for, something you desire to achieve or to happen to you or through you. But why are certain things considered as impossible dreams? One reason is, they may have never been achieved before their time. The Wright brothers experienced this type of hindrance. The engineers of their day could not conceive any type of craft that could float in the air, let alone fly.

For example, if your department or faculty has never recorded a first class graduation everyone may automatically decide that it cannot be done. If no one in your family has ever graduated from any higher institution, even though they attended, this may form a block on your imagination that you may also not graduate.

Genesis 37:5-11 above features Joseph. His dream of greatness seemed so impossible, but history shows differently. In Genesis 41:41 Pharaoh made Joseph administrator over all Egypt, and in Genesis 42:6, “…Joseph's brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth.”

I will not say that your dream for your academic life is not impossible. I would only acknowledge this fact that, WITH GOD, EVEN THE IMPOSSIBLE CAN HAPPEN!

Luke 18:27 declares, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” You can achieve whatever you set on heart upon. You only need to accept God’s verdict about your dream for your academics and your life.

Continue to expect the best from yourself and continue to maintain a great attitude regardless whatever happens. Don’t compromise on your good habits, stay focused on your academic goals and whatever happens know that God will come through for you.

I’ll be glad to hear from you. Kindly send your testimonies, questions and prayer requests as responses on this blog. To ensure your friends, class mates and room-mates are also equipped by Intervention Messages and Study Tips, kindly share this message with them.
