6 Rules for Avoiding
Academic Troubles
Many students suffer from unreleased results, missing exam scripts,
registration irregularities, course point irregularities, and so on. As a
result, some will not graduate when they should. Truth is, most of these
troubles are avoidable. Are you experiencing or at risk of any of the above
academic issues?
I have one desire for you. It’s my reason for praying to God for you that:
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of
Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you
out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt
sacrifice. You can find it in Psalm 20:1-3.
Welcome to Intervention, an outreach of VISION
BUILDERS designed to help undergraduates contact divine intervention for
academic victories. Intervention brings you inspirational messages and Study
Tips to enable you be your best academically! Through this message, we believe
that God is set to bless you by removing every barrier against your academic
success and fulfillment.
To ensure you avoid these unpleasant situations I will be talking about 6 Rules for Avoiding Academic Troubles.
Rule no 1 - Attend a student orientation fair at the beginning
of the school year, becoming familiar with the various clubs and activities
offered on campus.
Every higher
institution provides different types of familiarization program to help
students know and understand the different life, financial and academic aids
are available to help students. The problem is that many never participate in
such programs.
Such programs help
you know amongst other things:
- How to use the
library for research
- Who is in charge of
what in your school
- The professional
backgrounds of the teaching staff
- Which student
clubs exist on your campus and what they stand for
- The rules,
regulations, policies, and procedures specific to your school
Rule no 2 - Follow the rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures specific to your college.
Every smart student
takes the time to learn the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
specific to his or her school. Learn them, know them and observe them. “I did
not know”, never exempted any offender from punishment.
Rule no 3 - Meet with your academic advisor at least once each
term to track your scholastic progress.
Your Course
Advisor’s job is to guide you to academic success. Your course advisor works
within the system and knows the pitfalls. He or she knows just what you need to
do to improve your grades. Your course advisor knows who to meet to resolve any
academic issues that may have. Take advantage of it!
Rule no 4 - Check up your academic records each semester or
session
You cannot afford
inconsistencies in your records, no matter how busy you may think you are. Be
sure your records are in order, regardless of how efficient your school’s
administration may be.
Rule no 5 - Purchase textbooks early and read the introduction
of each to grasp the material at hand.
This is self
explanatory. It’s a waste of funds buying textbooks and not read the most
important facts of the book. Read the introduction to know what angle of
information that textbook focuses on.
Rule no 6 - Utilize available tutoring and learning services,
academic programs and resources offered by your school.
Take advantage of
every tutoring and learning service
made available by your school.
Going back to the bible reading above, God has promised to be a Sanctuary
for you and to answer you in the day of trouble. Is anything posing a trouble
in your academic life today? There is help in God, but there is a part to play
in His intervention for your academic well-being. You need to ask Him and trust
Him to come through for you. He certainly will!
Don’t compromise on
your good habits, stay focused on your academic goals and whatever happens know
that God will come through for you.
Continue to expect the best from yourself and continue to maintain a
great attitude regardless whatever happens.
I’ll
be glad to hear from you. Kindly send your testimonies, questions and prayer
requests as responses on this blog. To ensure your friends, class mates and
room-mates are also equipped by Intervention
