Turning Your Stumbling Blocks Into Stepping Stones!: Part 2
Friends, welcome to
Intervention, an outreach of VISION BUILDERS designed to help Undergraduates
contact divine intervention for academic victories. Intervention brings you
inspirational messages and Study Tips to enable you be your best academically!
Through this message, we believe that God is set to bless you by removing every barrier against your academic success and fulfillment.
I
believe you will find today’s topic quite interesting, because today we'll
conclude the last message - Turning Your Stumbling Blocks Into
Stepping Stones!
……….
2. TURNING
YOUR STUMBLING BLOCKS INTO STEPPING STONES
Don’t
let this adversity twist your character. There are many students around you who
have refused to let their character be compromised despite their financial
adversity.
There
are always options. You will see them if you look for them. For example, you
can get a weekend job. You can type up projects for others for a fee. Many
students would appreciate help with typing notes and stuff. I met a year three
student who runs a campus taxi service and pays his own way through school. I
have another friend who bought and re-sold second hand clothes just to get
through school.
If your
adversity is related to poor grades, you do not need to cheat or take short
cuts to do well. What you really need is to improve your academic ability and
performance. Make friends with classmates who are doing well. It will take
extra effort and humility but the results will justify the labour eventually.
Pray, trust God, and patiently endure the learning and self-development process
required for academic success.
I
already mentioned the first two points in past messages. First I said, Change
Your Attitude. Secondly, Stop Focusing On The Negatives.
The
third point to note is, Focus On Your Set Goals: Remember
the story of Dr. Mary Groda-Lewis? Focus on your set goal. You will achieve it
with God’s help.
Finally, Keep Your
Sight On God Instead On Your Difficulties: When I
was having challenges with my final year project, a class mate said to me, “You
can choose to meditate on your project or you can meditate on God’s word.”
Things never got better till I took my friend’s advice and turned my focus to
God to help me complete my project.
According
to Ps 37:39-40, “The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their
strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, because they trust in
Him.”
What are
you facing in your academics today? Your salvation can come from the Lord. He
has already promised to help you and deliver you. He promised to be your
strength. But the condition is that you trust Him. But how can you trust
someone you don’t have any form of relationship with? To really trust God for
your life and academics you need to get into a relationship with Him. Would you
like to have a personal relationship with God starting today? If you want to,
why don’t we talk to him together right now so you can begin a personal relationship
with Him? Just pray this simple pray:
Heavenly
Father I ask you to please come into my life today. I believe that your son
Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead. Forgive all my sins today
and make me your child. Fill me with your Holy Spirit right now and bring
stability into my academics and life. Thank you for coming. Amen.
If you
prayed this prayer with me then know that you have begun a relationship with
God. He has come into your life and will begin working in your life and
academics. Please send me an email to buildyourvisions@gmail.com or
an SMS to +234
817 2239 319 to tell me that you just started a relationship with God.
Remember to include your mobile number and email address. I would like to pray
with you.
And
before I sign off today, I would like to pray with you for God’s intervention
in any area of your academics and life that you may need it. There is nothing
beyond God’s reach or ability. Ps 37:39-40 in the New Living Translation bible
states, “The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of
trouble. The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He
saves them, and they find shelter in him.” I want to encourage you to believe
this. God’s presence is a safe place from the troubles of academic life. Let us
pray together right now. Share this simple pray with me as I lead. Say:
Heavenly
Father, I thank you because you are my fortress and my safe place. I thank you
because you help and rescue the godly from the wicked. Today I come to you to
save me from everything threatening my academic success. I thank you for
hearing me, in Jesus name, amen.
I want
to pray for you: Father, I pray for
my listeners that in whatever circumstances they are right now that may be
disrupting their peace academically they may experience you as a Savior and
safe place. Let your power deliver from every trouble and reverse every
disadvantage.
Continue
to expect the best from yourself and continue to maintain a great attitude
regardless whatever happens.
I hope
to hear from you soon. Send your testimonies, questions and prayer requests as
responses on this blog. If you have friends, class mates and room-mates
whom you feel could be helped by Intervention messages and Study Tips, kindly
share this message with them.
